21st-Century Courtship

The miserable thing is that there isn’t a person here who can say they don’t use the ‘puter at least once a day for work. We’re umbilically connected now. How does it happen that sitting in a cafe looking all ponderous and erudite, tapping away on a laptop while knocking back plush lattes and/or munching on expensive custards has somehow become a bonafide job, on a par with chiropractic, construction, or even personal training? Go into any cafe in any part of the world, and you’ve got your pseudo-intellectuals clicking away on their laptops looking all surly and important. WTF?! I’m looking at it right now. And you know what — this isn’t even my insight. I was chatting about this with my XY Paternal Unit the other day, and these were his insights. Acting all important in a cafe punching computer keys is the 21st-century equivalent to courtship. I’m running the other way. You?
