Now That the Earthquake Has Passed…

It’s been more than three weeks since the Port-Au-Prince quake, and the extraordinary immediate response by the international community has been remarkable to read about.
My friend and Israel-resident Liane Thompson who is – among other amazing things – known for her pioneering international documentary work, like this promo for her Children of Missile City
was down in the Haiti recently on a mission with Israel Flying Aid and just reported back to her fans on some of her latest findings. Here’s an excerpt from her latest Facebook status update:
Out of Haiti safe. hundreds of orphans, 35 hours of footage, dozens of new friends and unlimited amount of tears later! next stop… the edit suite to craft my story of a roadtrip through Port au Prince…post the quake. c u all soon and Thanks for all the sweet notes
I’m looking forward to seeing what she captured through her astute lens, and I’d also suggested before she set off for Hispaniola to snag plenty of cutaway footage while leaving Lod’s Ben-Gurion Airport and also during the crisis team’s entry into the Dominican Republic and the Haitian disaster zone so that there it was nicely bookended for a possible dramatic documentary. Like I mentioned to Liane, you never know these days where your next award will come from…
Do you know anyone who was recently down in Haiti? Any good links to documentary-type footage I could take a look at and share here?
